Here's my thoughts:

Dallas has hit a poor run of form lately in MLS and would want to get on track,. but they will be missing their best midfielder in U.S. international Brek Shea who is getting a break tonight after an exhausting schedule of MLS League Matches, U.S. Open Cup matches, and international friendlies all over the world. He's the engine of that midfield and has been single handily responsible for most of their success this year. They are also missing offensive players Maicon Santos and Marvin Chavez. They are getting some starting defenders back who had missed some time during their poor form, but I suspect they'll be on their heels quite a bit tonight. They are not a high powered offense to begin with. Among teams that will make the playoffs, they have the least amount of home goals (18 in 14 matches)

Here's the kickers for tonight: Bobby Rhine, former FC Dallas icon and teammate to many of these players (was also a current commenter for FC Dallas TV broadcasts), died last week of a shocking heart attack at the age of 35 and it has affected many players on the squad as they lost to a very poor New England club 0-2. They get a double shocker as 18-year old FC Dallas academy midfielder Jose Perez was killed in a car accident yesterday.

Okay, onto Tauro, how good are they? Well, they won the Panamanian 2010/11 Apertura league with 11-4-3 record, and a league best road record of 6-1-2, +6 GD. They have begun this year's Apertura in the same manner. 9 games in, they are 6-1-2, 15 goals for, 6 against. They did lose at home to Toronto FC 2-1, but the scoreline is a little misleading. Tauro was very competitive in the match and pretty much controlled the entire second half and had many chances. They deserved a better result than the outcome, IMO Tauro was much better that night. In their other group game, they tied UNAM Pumas, the Mexican spring champions.

In other words, Tauro is hungry for points and will come out playing hard. Dallas is 2-0-0 with 6 points in group play so far and are not in an urgent need of a win and have other concerns as well (Getting into the MLS Playoffs) and with the distractions from two deaths close to home and their best player out, I see them struggling tonight and having an underappreciated Tauro side take the game to them for a potential upset.
